Tansy Kaschak is a Brazilian-Italian journalist, artist, and advocate for sociopolitical and environmental urgencies.
A polyglot communicator, Tansy uses writing, art, video, and public speaking to build awareness, foster community, and encourage dialogue and action. Living and working between New York, Brazil, Mexico, and Europe, she is engaged in global creative projects and contributes to various international media outlets.
She is the Editor In Chief of the award-winning travel and culture platform A Hotel Life, a pioneering voice in travel and hospitality. Being recognized since its inception in 2013 as an ahead-of-the-curve tastemaker, now, under Tansy’s guidance, AHL is paving the way as a changemaker, redefining — with wit and creativity — what it means to travel and to make hospitality today.
Her reportage work has been featured in numerous publications, including Condé Nast Traveller UK and US, Vogue, Cool Hunting, GQ, Lampoon, Open Spaces Magazine, Architonic, and Designboom, and she has authored travel guides for Brazilian independent publisher Pulp Edições for which she is also the correspondent in New York.
Motivated by her innate commitment to environmental respect and social justice, Tansy consults worldwide, helping businesses, individuals and communities identify and tackle their social, cultural, and ecological responsibility with innovative and purposeful solutions.
As an artist, Tansy uses video and scent to create non-verbal narratives that investigate the relationship between humans, nature, and technology, exploring how sensorial phenomena affect our individual and collective memory and worldly experience. In 2018, she participated on Katja Loher’s solo exhibition What Is The Color Of Scent? at C24 Gallery in Chelsea, NYC and in New Delhi, India, and in 2019 participated on two shows in New York City: Mythologia Libre with artist Carlito Dalceggio, and HIGH ON HERTZ with artists Moral Tugerman and Kelsey Falter.
In 2020, Tansy helped bring to life the online exhibition of art collective This Immediate Life (TIL), a collaborative public participatory art project during the covid-19 lockdown.
Tansy holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and a Master’s Degree in Cinema, TV, and Audiovisual Creative Projects, which combined with her expertise as a communication curator, led to fruitful collaborations with the world’s most prestigious artists and brands via her work with Italian Century-old printer and publisher Nava Press.
